ABOUT THE PROGRAM

I started developing Combat Club’s dual-focused self-development and self-defense program at the University of Cambridge.

We all want our kids to be healthy, confident and resilient, able to advocate for themselves while navigating the unique range of adversities they face growing up in NYC. We want to set our kids up for success and happiness.

Physical and psychological safety represent the base of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs pyramid because they’re foundational. We also need to build on them and develop tacit, hard-to-grasp life skills like self-confidence, focus, self-discipline, persistence, optimism, social and conflict communication skills. We also need to understand the value of hard work, resilience, commitment and G.R.I.T.

These skills can’t be learned online or sitting in a class-room. They require social reinforcement, mentorship, in-person training and commitment. Life skills allow children to thrive while avoiding pitfalls like bullying and drugs.

It takes a village, alongside a team of dedicated professionals, all working together.

  • Excellent place for children and young adults to learn new life skills based on everyday situations that kids face. Very practical, fun and easy to learn technics that levels the playing field in their favor against Bullys. The Combat Club is a must try for any child and parent that’s interested in introducing a new mindset and discipline for self defense that will definitely help them develop confidence, focus, awareness, responsibility, and a new found respect for themselves and others around them.

The classes are designed to provide the tools needed to overcome real-world challenges in a safe, social, and supportive environment. Kids and youth are not only taught to physically protect themselves, they learn life skills like self-confidence, resilience, hard work, discipline, respect, personal responsibility, conflict communication, social skills, and dealing with confrontations as well.
